A progressive christian social justice church seeking to live as Jesus did.

Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called children of God.

 Matthew 5:9

Our Vision and COMMITMENT

Vision Statement – We believe that all people are made in the image of God and that all are welcome at Christ's table.  We aspire to be an open-minded community of faith, engaged in meaningful worship, and committed to social justice, community service, and personal spiritual growth.

Open and Affirming – Christ Church is an open and affirming congregation. Open and Affirming (ONA) is the United Church of Christ's designation for congregations, campus ministries, and other bodies in the UCC which make a public covenant of welcome into their full life and ministry to persons of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions. You are welcome here, in worship and in all levels of leadership.

A Sanctuary Congregation – Christ Church is committed to seeking justice for migrant and refugee peoples. This includes sheltering  Alex Garcia who has sought Sanctuary while fighting against unfair deportation and family separation.

Then to Now – Christ Church was founded by German immigrants in 1890 as Christ Evangelical Church. The congregation moved to the current site in 1925 and became Christ Church, United Church of Christ, in 1957.
